Is your faith alive or dead?

James ch 2 talks about faith ..that it can living or dead depending upon the works tied to it.Him saying that there are those that say they have faith ,but no evidence of that faith.He said you say you believe that there is one God ,he says the demons believe that and tremble.Don't get me wrong ,I'm not saying we're saved by works because the bibles says in ephes ch2:7-10 "For by grace are you saved through faith and that not of yourselves,it is the gift of God... What I am saying/asking is 'Is your faith living or is it dead? Do we determine if our faith is alive or not by our works (acting upon what we say we believe) or is what we say enough?
