How to compromise on where we live?

Are we talking about a village 15-20 minutes outside of the city you currently live in here? 'Cause while I prefer the charms of urban living myself, it's not like you'd be bidding farewell forever to your favorite hangouts; I know the commute's not fun, but it could be a lot worse. And there are compromises to be made, like finding a house that you can decorate in a style that suits you or a neighborhood that addresses some of the complaints on both sides. But at least one of you has to consider being together more important than where you do it and take the first step toward a livable solution, or any talk of marriage is pointless.
